Laura Geisen

Laura Geisen, inventor of the Washboard Tie, lives in Minnesota. She got the idea for the Tie while listening to a Zydeco band. She really wanted to be able to play along with the band, but had no instrument with her. She thought that if she could just carry an instrument easily, she could accompany any band she chose. Maybe she could even just wear the instument...around her neck, YEAH! And so the Washboard Tie was born. At first Laura made them by hand, laser cutting the steel, then running it through a geared machine to create ridges, and finally hand polishing.
